The Habit Poem

I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am completely at your command.

Half the things you do, you might just as well turn over to me, and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done, and after a few lessons I will do it automatically.

I am the servant of all great men.
And, alas, of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.

I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine. Plus, the intelligence of a man.
You may run me for profit, or run me for ruin; it makes no difference to me.

Take me, train me, be firm with me and I will put the world at your feet. Be easy with me, and I will destroy you.

Who am I? I am a HABIT

What habits are hindering you from becoming all who you are meant to be?

I Decided to Grow and Flourish
By: Sandra Garcon

Written July 6, 2014, on train from Switzerland to Venice, Italy.  Inspired by trees growing out of these huge thick mountainous rocks.

I have decided to grow and flourish even in the midst of difficult and treacherous environments
In environments scares of water, I dig my roots
In hard places that fail to trap the rain, there my roots go deeper and I flourish
No I didn't decide on these unlikely environments
But it was the place God chose to cultivate my strength
I have done what others fail to do. I've survived
I spited my cruel teacher and extended my branches and flourish
Feel the breeze through me, come beneath my shades there I will cover you as He covered me
Come lean on me. I can carry you. For great was the price I paid for this strength
I have decided to grow and flourish in:
Mountainous regions
In deserts
Beneath the earth
In ravines
In the depths of the ocean
On frozen ground
In drought
In the flood
In the eye of the storms
In jungles
In bitter and dark forests there I decided to grow and flourish

WHAT OBSTICLES HAVE HELD YOU FROM GROWING AND FLOURISHING?
